Our aim is to build in complexity to complement our naturally exuberant fruit. Techniques such as pre and post-fermentmaceration are combined with partial barrel fermentation to achieve this in the winery. This wine has spent most of it's life, pre-bottling, in French oak barriques. The 2002 Grove Mill Pinot Noir was filtered but not stabilised prior to bottling.
Medium-bodied
Pinot Noir grown in Marlborough has abundant flavour, texture and colour. The challenges for the Grove Mill winemakers are; to select the best clones, to determine the best sites for each clone, and to determine the winemaking techniques which best suit our fruit. Our aim is to make a wine of warmth, texture and completeness - with both breadth and harmony and a balance of sweet and savoury flavours. For our style, texture is paramount. Pinot must "feel" good .
