In 1985, Mr Hohnen established Cloudy Bay in Marlborough, New Zealand. The winery and vineyards are situated in the Wairau Valley in Marlborough, at the northern end of New Zealand's South Island. Some 100 hectares of estate vineyards are farmed and then there are the long-term supply agreements with five Wairau Valley winegrowers. The Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc is one memorable wine with a refreshing and extremely fruity bouquet, and fans of Cloudy Bay include the cast and crew of Lord of the Rings, which was filmed on location in New Zealand.
