La Rioja Alta SA

La Rioja Alta SA is a wine producer located in Rioja, Spain.

On the 10th of July 1890, five Basque and Riojan vinegrowers started a wine-producing company called La Rioja Alta, in the part of the town of Haro known as the "Barrio de la Estación". The present shareholders, directors and some employees are descendants of the five families who founded the bodega.
It is not traditional in the Rioja for the great bodegas to own vineyards, but La Rioja Alta S.A. currently has 300 ha (741 acres) in order to control and secure grapes of the highest quality, most of them in the subarea of Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa.
