Simon Hackett Wines

Simon Hackett Wines is a wine producer located in McLaren Vale, Australia.

Simon grew up in an atmosphere steeped in wine and viticulture, spending his boyhood in the Barossa Valley where the family home was situated next to the Saltram Winery, Angaston. Simon, at the age of 18, elected to follow a career in winemaking serving his apprenticeship under the watchful eye of master winemaker, Peter Lehmann.

In 1973 Simon moved to the wine growing region of McLaren Vale, his first vintage was at Southern Vales Winery (now Tatachilla Wines) where he worked with the winemaking team headed by Grant Burge; and after eight years he was appointed Senior Winemaker.

In 1984, Simon decided to concentrate fully on establishing his own boutique label. and today crushes grapes grown in the McLaren Vale and Barossa Valley regions of South Australia, producing a range of rich, bold, innovative wines.
