Viña Lomas de Cauquenes was founded in December 23, 1939 under the trade name of Cooperativa Agrícola Vitivinícola de Cauquenes. (COVICA Ltda), after that an earthquake destroyed most of the wineries owned by the wine makers of the area.
The first vintage of the Cooperative was performed in 1940 with 30 associates, producing 762 liters of wine and 100 liters of sunned wine. By 1946, it had 115 associates and the wine making reached to 3.600.000 liters of wine and 200.000 liters of sunned wine.
